Vivian Girls – “Sludge” Video

Vivian Girls – “Sludge” Video

It’s been eight years since the release of Vivian Girls’ last album, 2011’s Share The Joy. But back in July, NYC-to-LA transplants Cassie Ramone, Katy Goodman, and Ali Koehler announced their return. In a few weeks, they’ll release their new full-length Memory, alongside reissues of their first two albums, 2008’s self-titled and 2009’s Everything Goes Wrong.

We’ve already heard two singles from the forthcoming LP, the dense and dreamy “Sick” and the blissed out “Something To Do.” Today, they share a new track, “Sludge,” and its accompanying music video. The grainy visual matches the song’s fuzzy, melodic angst. It was directed by Alex Ross Perry, who cites the band as inspiration for his latest film Her Smell.
