Shut Up, Dude: This Week’s Best And Worst Comments
This week we ran our 2010s In Review features, and thank god that’s over! We put a ton of work into it, only narrowly avoiding a mutiny. It’s been fun reading your lists in the comments — will have to check out this Kaputt guy. Anyway, while our lists were of course perfecto, keep in mind when you have a whole staff of music writers trying to come to a consensus, a lot of the more outré picks will fall by the wayside. It doesn’t mean most of us don’t love doom metal or whatever.
Beyond our 100 Best Albums and 200 Best Songs lists, we looked back at the decade in music videos, rap music, and one-hit wonders. We also named Kendrick Lamar Artist Of The Decade which I’m surprised any of you could disagree with!

Seems like it would also wash away the considerable ill will Morrissey has accrued over the last few years, but really, this party that he’s a part of only ever gets talked about in reference to Nigel Farrage calling them Nazis. That’s literally the only thing I read about them. I went to their site and it just seemed like some bullshit that a bunch of incels joined and that fits Morrissey kind of to a T so I really dgaf about the politics. I love Morrissey and I’m tired of hearing about celebs’ dumb politics. Nobody would have heard of his stupid party if the entire music world didn’t collectively get diarrhea when they heard about it and published it everywhere like it was gonna do anything but get that party more exposure. |

This band sucks. All of rap-rock is terrible. I mean I get why angsty teens loved RATM back in their days, because they were dumb and hadn’t developed taste yet, but to still be hoping for this reunion c’mon. |

Behold, the 2010s unlicensed Stereogum artist power rankings™. Kanye seemed to have the best decade, with the most amount of features in the list and a relatively good average rank, but Kendrick actually had better rankings for his four spots, on average. Honorable mention to Lorde, whose two songs selected are both below 25.
