So far, the musical artists who’ve rescheduled their postponed 2020 arena tours seem to be assuming that people will be able (or at least willing) to attend large indoor gatherings like that by summer 2021: The Weeknd, Rage Against The Machine, and Justin Bieber, for example. This more or less squares with a recent CDC prediction that Americans can return to normal life by the third quarter of 2021 — June is at the end of Q2, but it’s at least pretty close to Q3. However, the latest rescheduled arena tour is less optimistic.

Elton John — who recently announced a box set and swore his allegiance to Father John Misty — launched a three-year farewell tour in 2018, but it was derailed this year along with everything else. Now John has announced his rescheduled dates, and he won’t be back in North America until 2022.

His European jaunt kicks off about a year from now in Berlin, but Sir Elton won’t be piano-rocking these shores until January 2022. I’d like to think we’ll be able to go to big shows before then, but shit guys, who even knows anymore. Check out the new North American schedule below.
