DVC Refreshments is the new solo moniker of TOPS and Born At Midnite guitarist David Carriere. He’s releasing the cheekily titled Hits Only cassette, recorded for fun in 2017 and featuring TOPS’ Jane Penny, Maddy Wilde of Rapport and Moon King, and Hush Pup’s Ida Maidstone, next month. And today he’s sharing the project’s debut single “Wasted On The Real Thing,” which layers disorientingly chopped up and pitch-shifted vocals over a dazed new wave jam anchored by an insistent bassline.
