SXSW Announces First Round Of Artists For Virtual 2021 Festival

SXSW 2020 was one of the first major events to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic but, as promised, the Austin-based festival is returning this year in a virtual capacity. SXSW Online, as it is being called, will be held from 3/16-20 — it’ll be SXSW’s 35th annual event.

The first wave of performers have been announced, and a press release notes that each artist will perform from a venue in their home country/town that will then be livestreamed online. Participating artists so far include Braids, Holy Fuck, Squid, Sorry, Otoboke Beaver, Pillow Queens, Say Sue Me, and quite a few more.
