Pure Ecstasy – “Voices”

Pure Ecstasy are from Austin, TX, so maybe the trip to SXSW won’t be as exciting for them as it will be for anyone hoping to catch them live. Their tracks on their MySpace are promising, but “Voices” is the best of the bunch. Here singer Nate Grace offers soft pleas over watery guitar chords. The bassline helps stabilize the song, but the feeling of dizzyness and agitation makes “Voices”‘s simple lyrics (“Seems like there’s no place left to go / Everywhere you look it’s dark) sound desperate and knowing at the same time.
