The falafel entrepreneurs who held a contest to come up with a name for their East Village restaurant have picked a winner.

New Yorkish reports: “The new name is ‘Chickpea’ and it was submitted by Eliza Cohen, 26, of Brooklyn. The restaurant is opening today and the owners will be forking over $2,500 to the winner. In honor of their grand opening, they’re also giving out free falafel sandwiches until midnight. So today, there is such a thing as a free lunch: you just have to head to 23 Third Avenue and be prepared to wait for two hours behind a bunch of cheap, hungry NYU students.”
