Twin Sister @ Glasslands, Brooklyn 4/1/10

Brooklyn quintet Twin Sister are generating a noticeable buzz. A couple of days ago we posted a link to a free download of their Color Your Life EP. The title may not be as colorful as their previous Vampires Dreaming With Kids, but the music itself includes more nuanced, varied hues. They’ve opened things up, grown more exploratory … as folks who made it out to Glasslands last night might’ve noticed. They may have also spotted a kind of effortless swing. Amrit pointed out that frontwoman Andrea Estella ditched the platinum blonde wig she sported last time he caught them in favor of her actual hair. There’s some sort of metaphor in there for a young band feeling more comfortable in its own skin. They were joined by Tallahassee twosyllable quartet Holiday Shores, the House Floor, and Ocotillo. Jessica Amaya braved the crowd and returned with photos. She also passed along some video of Twin Sister and Holiday Shores to help establish the atmosphere.
