Back in April, Tokyo Police Club released their first full-length Elephant Shell. In this week’s Drop, we bring you a brand new UK/Japanese bonus track, “New New Song.” The title says it all. Or, at least we assumed it did. We asked frontman Dave Monks for specifics. He let us in on the song’s genesis, its future (“If someone wants to remix or cover it let me know because it’s got to be called ‘New New New Song'”), and the personal/Roald Dahl inspirations behind its bloody, anatomically correct storyline. You can read up on “New New Song” while you take a listen here.
We also offered the change to win a Snowflake USB microphone, Everloving vinyl prize pack, and limited-edition art print by Herman Dune’s David-Ivar Herman Dune.
One grand prize winner will receive a Snowflake USB mic courtesy of Blue Microphones, an Everloving records vinyl prize pack, and a limited edition art print by Herman Dune’s David-Ivar Herman Dune. This is the microphone:
You can get more details at Blue Microphones. As far as the Everloving vinyl prize pack, it breaks down like so: Herman Dune’s Next Year In Zion, Don Cavalli’s Cryland, the B.I.P.P.P. French Synthwave 1979-85 compilation and Cornelius’s Gum 12″, all on vinyl (plus MP3s of each). This is the acclaimed French duo Herman Dune:
