NME Loves Gossip, Doesn’t Care About Kanye West

Go go Gossip girl. Beth Ditto is the first bird to top NME’s annual “Cool List.” The Brit rag’s 2005 countdown placed Alex Turner at #1; the Arctic Monkey’s dropped 31 points (the science behind this is complicated). But don’t feel bad for him. Last year’s third place, Kanye West, is off the list entirely. Not cool! Despite the $1 million video and outspoken support of miscegenation? NME, you just lost all credibility. Oh, and Noel Gallagher is not pleased.
