The ‘Gum Drop LXVII: Hear New Praveen & Benoît, Win A Led Zeppelin Box Set

When Brooklynite (and Percussion Lab owner) Praveen Sharma and Portlander Thomas Meluch (aka Kranky’s Benoît Pioulard) join forces they’re Praveen & Benoit. Praveen creates the arrangements, Benoît’s the vocal harmonies. The duo spent more than two years putting together the lovely Songs Spun Simla, but have only ever met a handful of time in person — hence the cut and paste band photo. In this week’s Drop we offered non-album track “At A Loss,” which Praveen told us “wasn’t fully fleshed out in time to make it onto the album.” Now it is. Take a listen, and read his thoughts about “At A Loss.” Songs Spun Simla is out via Music Related. This song isn’t on it.

This week we also offered the chance to win a limited-edition Led Zeppelin Definitive Collection Mini LP Replica box set.

One winner gets the limited-edition Led Zeppelin Definitive Collection Mini LP Replica box. Like the name suggests, it’s a collection set of mini-LP replica CDs. It’s out via Atlantic Records/Rhino Entertainment and included the Japanese imports of Zeppelin’s 10 albums as mini-LP replicas complete with artwork from the original UK LP sleeves. Here’s what it includes, for those who don’t have all the albums memorized:
