Of Montreal And Elf Power

Of Montreal And Elf Power

I almost gave up on Elephant 6. Then Of Montreal’s Satanic Panic In The Attic appeared on my desk and after a dozen listens, I wanna move to Athens.

I think my favorite E6 disc is Olivia Tremor Control’s Black Foliage. Of Montreal doesn’t come close to OTC’s unconventional song structures or wild tape splicing, but it’s definitely got that familiar psych-pop vibe. Certainly as poppy and Pet Sounds-inspired as the entire Apples In Stereo catalog.

We're on drugs.

Like that album cover? If you’ve got $100 and a headshot David Barnes will personalize a portrait of you in that style.
