LA-based noise rock outfit The Mae Shi are set to release the fifth record in their mere four year existence, and with a change in lead singers (Jonathan Grey replaces Ezra Buchla this time out) comes a sound that’s still large on two-minute sound detonations, now with new-and-improved pop sensibility. “Lamb & Lion,” oddly enough, sounds like it could turn up in the middle of a Matt & Kim set, while “Run To Your Grave” will be stuck on repeat — either on your iPod or in your head — the rest of the day.
HLLLYH is out this summer on a label the band is not at liberty to name.
