Ex-Grandaddy guitarist Jim Fairchild’s forthcoming solo effort is one worth checking out, if only to remind yourself of the depth of talent surrounding Lytle during the sadly defunct band’s halcyon days. Last time, we quoted Jim’s description of the album:
You can hear the walls, and the floors, and the ceilings, and you can hear the cars, and the trees, and the guys selling drugs outside.
And on his first vid as All Smiles, we get to see that description played out in glorious black and white. Pretty sure that’s Chicago he’s strolling through, and damn sure that’s a woman in his bed at the end (sorry, ladies).
Ten Readings Of A Warning is out 4/24 on Dangerbird Records.
