Twin Shadow – “Castles In The Snow” Video

A video for “Castles In The Snow,” the song that dropped George Lewis, Jr. and his Twin Shadow project on our radar six months ago, though it was his simple Top 10 video of the year contender for “Slow” — and the rest of his forthcoming Terrible Records-released (4AD outside the U.S.) Forget LP — that’s done the heavy lifting since. George doesn’t appear here, though like “Slow” it continues Lewis’s fascination with bygone eras, creative hairstyles; the chilly synth-lined Junior Boys in Brooklyn dance track is paired with period-piece fashions and faces, a make-believe ’80s NYC street doc, with a natural feel grounded in roughly the same time period as this photo essay I keep looking at was put to film. No castles, no snow, but fun sounds and images to keep in mind for tonight’s commute home. Jamie Harley directs.
