Stream Matador At 21, Live From The Palms In Las Vegas All Weekend

As the scene in the lobby, by the pool, in the various rooms and suites of the Palms Hotel in Vegas coalesces with this pretty mix of overly cologned Sin City hardbodies and bearded pot-bellies and Pynchon tattoos, I can attest to a few things about Matador At 21: It’s actually happening, and most “relevant” faces field the giddy unease of expecting what’s in fact been advertised as “The Lost Weekend.” Or the giddy ease of being greased up by too many complimentary casino cocktails a little too early in the day. Here we go.

Understandably, friends are upset they couldn’t make it here to lose their shirt at the craps table and their shit in the Pearl Ballroom, site of the weekend’s proper-hours festivities (the afterparties take place elsewhere and feature a Ted Leo vs. Fucked Up two-stage song-for-song trade-off show, if you can imagine the high-spunk hilarity of such a thing). To those friends, there is good news: MySpace will stream this party live; you can even watch it on your iPhone or iPad. (In fact, put your iPhone on speakerphone to ensure the live stream packs the audio fidelity you’ve come to love from Guided By Voices.)

This is your operative link for streaming (I’m also told will work). The full schedule is below, as are your options for following this thing on Twitter. Repeat: Here we go.

There will be sporadic tweeting from @stereogum and @amritsingh as well, though frankly the variables impacting tweet volume are too many to list, and probably yet to be determined. Otherwise, the reportage will be robust and crowdsourced at #matador21, surely, as will some “official” styled reports from the designated account @matadorat21, and of course @matadorrecords.

Others sure to be amusing: @tedleo, @scharpling, @leftfordamian, and @bobpollard (JK that doesn’t exist … yet).  I’ll add to this list through the weekend.
