New Favourite Sons Video – “Pistols & Girls”

What happens to bands that release great indie records, years after you’ve stopped hearing from ‘em? In the case of Rollerskate Skinny singer Ken Griffin, they move to NYC, put out some unheralded records, and resort to tending bar. But Griffin’s been back in action with a band on Vice, one part Rollerskate (him) and four parts Aspera, a Jagjaguwar-signed Philly band trying its hand in the Big Apple. The resulting mesh is Favourite Sons, and the Radical Friend-directed vid for the plodding march of “Pistols & Girls” somehow reflects that phoenix-rising bio with its papier mâché construction, deconstruction, and green-headed monster decapitation. If that doesn’t say “Us against the world,” well then allow Ken to sing it.

The track’s here for the taking. Enjoy.
