“You know the difference between Friends and the John Kerry campaign? Friends has a theme.”
And I’ll be so happy not to hear that stupid theme song anymore (clap! clap! clap!). Sorry Phil Solem. At least you made a ton of dough. Although I wonder, does anybody else remember “Johnny Have You Seen Her”?
I was in the third row at Morrissey’s Apollo concert last night with Stereogum Senoir. My dad introduced me to the Smiths back in the day, and he paid for the tix, so while it felt a bit like Episode 2 of Growing Pains we both had a great time. Also in attendance were J. Go, Hallified, Hallified’s girlfriend whose name I forget, and Ultragrrrl (who would totally be writing this blog if she were alive forty years ago). Parker Posey and Ryan Adams made their way past security without having to get strip searched for camera phones like the rest of us.
Morrissey totally rubbed his nipple during “Shoplifters.” The young Latinas ate it up. He changed his shirt a few times. Everyone sang “There Is A Light” during the encore. Moz made a joke about Chandler (no, not really).

Eliza Jane Tivo’d Friends for me. Such a disappointing episode (and “Yellow Ledbetter”? Puh-leaze.). I don’t think I’ll miss that show. Check out humorous finale commentary from Kevan and Fred at the BWE Blog.
