The Indie ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’?

Interesting twee-pop buzz via Grambo:

Belle & Sebastian’s new song “Your Cover’s Blown” (from the forthcoming Books EP) is being described as the indie “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Stuart Murdoch tells NME: “Musically it started by putting down quite a lot of ideas from the band jamming, so to speak. It’s not something we usually do. I quickly wrote the verses, and it seemed to move on in time, became a story, and the breakdown section, the fast section, came one morning. I thought ‘This is when he’s walking home, having a shit time’ and then we tried to tie it in at the end.”

The story continues on the official B&S site: “It’s an evening, a night, a morning in the life of this guy, another loser as chance would have it. Quick in the dispensing good advice, it doesn’t do him any good as he finds himself washed up on the stairs outside the club. He rambles home, bitter and melancholy, leaving the kids getting off with each other back inside.”

First off, there’s already an indie rock “Bohemian Rhapsody.” “Paranoid Android” obvs. But if you’ve got the new B&S track, please send my way.
