MGMT Do Daytrotter

If you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing MGMT perform on the back of their somewhat divisive, certainly restless and compelling second album Congratulations, the session they filed for Daytrotter is a good use of time. Tight in the ways you want a psychedelic band honing in on twisty late ’60s sounds to be tight, scruffy and woozy in ways all the same, it’s a four-song addendum to an album that may have raised questions for some listeners but should have been the answer to anyone who’s wondered if their talent and songwriting ability was anything less than the real deal.
