New Beirut – “East Harlem” (Live At Music Hall Of Williamsburg)

When we saw Beirut’s shows at MHOW and BAM, I mentioned Zach’s lilting new/old ukulele love song “East Harlem” (written when he was 17, unveiled in February) had him embracing his inner Stephin Merritt. We posted a shitty clip once, now there’s high-quality video of that song along with the entire MHOW set at The shows focused on Condon’s new EPs, and while I loved the Realpeople synth-and-laptop pop half, the full-band arrangements of “My Night Of Th Prostitute…” and “The Concubine” are themselves worth the watch. (Also, you can finally see Beirut’s cover of Ayo Barroso’s “Brazil,” aka the song you probably know because of Arcade Fire.)
