Another track from Pants’s forthcoming Stones Throw debut LP, formerly titled Love Craft, now self-titled. (Imagine that cover art above will change, too.) Not as dizzying or immediate as the Suicide-juke pop of the wonderful “Darlin’,” instead getting lost inside layers of ’90s keyboards and heavily affected vocals, congas, and a pseudo-psychedelic bassline that’s something like Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit” on a wonky amphetamine. It’s a groovier trip than the fancy footworky “Darlin’.” Enjoy it, “Alone”:
James Pants is due in April via Stones Throw.
