Radiohead’s In Rainbows Album Art: Name That Blob

Some were upset that In Rainbows didn’t come with a little .jpg love, while others emailed asking if what we’ve had until now in Heavy Rotation was the legit cover. So this one’s for you: the proper front and back to In Rainbows, for your PMPleasure. Once again, the band’s turned to longtime collaborator/Thom’s soulmate in dystopian, post-apocalyptic visual art, Stanley Donwood (né Dan Rickwood). (Btw, highly recommend Dead Children Playing, his picture book with Dr. Tchock [aka Yorke] featuring the pair’s paintings from OK Computer through to the Hail To The Thief era; your coffee table will thank you. And then fear for our future.)

Anyway, as you’d guess the In Rainbows cover features most of Roygbiv (about as much as “All I Need” does of “Roygbiv” — gotta love that Rainbow connection). Let’s play “name the orange blob in the middle”…

From the front…

…to the back.

Thanks to green plastic radiohead.

Oh about that blob: very fetal…
