Truth is, I could expand that list of 18 Dark Bands To Watch In 2011 on a weekly basis. See, for instance, recent Tri Angle signees, the continually evolving Water Borders. This is an unmastered version of “Feasting On Mongeese” from the San Francisco duo’s forthcoming full-length debut. If you’re familiar with their Disaro EP or Glasser-featuring Hungry For Power 12″ (or etc.), the earthier, dirtier, spookier, more chaotically danceable sounds should surprise you. They’ve really stepped it up.
The record’s due in late 2011 via Tri Angle. Look for a proper announcement from the label in a month or so.
