Stereogum CMJ 2011: John Maus, Oneohtrix Point Never Added To Animal Collective DJs, Titus Andronicus, Etc.

UPDATE: We are happy to announce that Four Tet has been added to this bill, and will DJ from 8-9PM (which is precisely the time there will be free vodka). Come early and often.

Iceland Airwaves is over, which means it must be time for CMJ. As promised, Stereogum’s parties this week featured two secret guests, and by the grace of concert-promotion law, today we are finally able to reveal those artist to be the spasmodic/hypnogogic hero John Maus, and analog/electronics sound experimentalist Daniel Lopatin aka Oneohtrix Point Never. Both of these men will perform on Wednesday night at 285 Kent for our party with Domino/Ribbon Music and Todd P (and Software, which was a tip-off to Lopatin’s involvement from the get-go and well sleuthed by reader Raptor Jesus). Others on that bill include Twin Sister, Deradoorian of Dirty Projectors, and DJ sets from Animal Collective’s Deakin and Geologoist. There’s also a one-hour open bar on Tito’s Handmade Vodka from 8-9PM, with drink specials on the stuff the rest of the night. Tickets are $10 and half-priced if you have a badge. You should come to this.
