Handsome Franz Modeling School

The first Handsome Boy Modeling School album is one of those CDs that sits on my shelf and never, ever gets played. I don’t regret checking it out, but the Get A Life references got old real quick.

Despite their Chris Elliott fetish, I like Prince Paul and Dan the Automator as Nathaniel Merriweather and Chest Rockwell. They’re always up for interesting collaborations. Here’s the tracklisting for their forthcoming White People LP:

Look at this face!1. Intro (featuring Father Guido Sarducci)
2. If It Wasn’t for You (De La Soul)
3. Are You Down With It (Mike Patton)
4. The World’s Gone Mad (Barrington Levy, Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Alex Kapranos)
5. Dating Game (Tim Meadows)
6. Breakdown (Jack Johnson)
7. It’s Like That (Casual)
8. I Am Complete (The Hieroglyphics)
9. I’ve Been Thinkin’ (Cat Power
10. Rock and Roll (Could Never Hip Hop Like This) Part 2 (Mike Shinoda, Finesse, Jazzy Jay, Grand Wizard Theodore)
11. Knockers Skit (Tim Meadows)
12. The Hours (Chino Moreno, El-P, Cage)
13. First . . . and Then (Dres)
14. A Day in the Life (Mars Volta)
15. Good Hygiene (Tim Meadows)
16. Greatest Mistake (John Oates, Jaime Cullen, Paula Frazer)
17. The Runaway Song Part 2 Remix (Kid Koala)
18. Outro

Yes, they asked Tim Meadows to do The Ladies’ Man on their album. They have terrible in taste in comedy! Otherwise, very cool line-up.

Dan talked up “The World’s Gone Mad” to Rolling Stone last month:

“We have Del tha Funkee Homosapien putting it down for the hip-hop and Barrington Levy holding it down for reggae and Alex from Franz Ferdinand doing the rock thing. But the album’s not about every kind of genre of music in one song — it’s more about handsomely visiting different types of music.”

Enjoy the handsomeness.
