Last year, the Philly-based rapper/producer Lushlife released his great No More Golden Days mixtape, a heady combination of raspy, weathered East Coast thump and swirly, psychedelic textures. He enlisted Das Racist’s Heems to rap alongside him over Gang Gang Dance’s “Adult Goth,” to excellent results, and he managed to sound hard doing it, which can’t be easy. In a couple of months, he’ll follow up that mixtape with his new album Plateau Vision. And below, we’ve got first single “Big Sur,” a gorgeous piece of twinkly boom-bap.
Plateau Vision is out 4/17 on Western Vinyl.
