Yo where tf can I get a physical copy of Koan? Discogs says the last Vinyl copy sold was in 2017! Anyone have any leads? I’ll be willing to buy the CD version so long as it isn’t exorbitantly expensive

I think that in this case it’s still too early to have this conversation. We don’t have any context around what happened outside of the TMZ article, and home robberies can happen to almost anyone regardless of whether they’re a famous rapper or not. Regardless, dying at 20 is a tragedy. RIP.

I’m still not over the age thing. Guys like Sheff G and Pop Smoke sounds like they’ve been rapping for decades despite both being 20, meanwhile this guy is pushing 30 and cosplaying a scummy teen. Fuck out of here with that pulling-up-with-“broken”-emo-girls bullshit.

Ready for an openly antinatalist rapper to rap about how humanity needs to die and also about how he has a vasectomy so he doesn’t need a condom

Already forgot about TWIP changing days and had a minor work-related heart attack about it being Thursday already.

Oooh I forgot about Roots; now that’s a great nu Metal album. My thing with Iowa is that after 12 years of listening to much heavier music, the stripped down approach on that album doesn’t do it for me anymore. Slipknot (which I now realize isn’t technically their debut but was their major label introduction to a lot of kids) has a very unique, adventurous industrial/noise underpinning to it, and Volume III has some great fucking hooks, but Iowa to me seems like a less intense version of stuff that other metal bands have done better. I don’t know, maybe it would be different if I had listened to it before I discovered death metal and Machine Head. We Are Not Your Kind lost me with how sprawling and disjointed it was. Seemed like a bunch of different parts pushed together instead of the sum of it’s parts, if you get what I’m saying.

Also, I just found this out and has to share: almost the entire band used to have a side project called Adventures that was Cayetana-style indie punk, and they released a split with the best band to exist entirely within the confines of the 2010s, Pity Sex.

Not bad! Isn’t revelatory or anything, but I certainly won’t mind when this song is played a million times over the course of the next NXT Takeover PPV. For the record, my take on Nu Metal is that Slipknot release two truly great albums (their debut and Volume III), Deftones are an incredible band, and Korn fucking suck no matter how influential they are.
