Very cool! The SK-1s are sick. This one is an MT-5, which is a whole lot more basic than previous Casio tones I’ve owned, but it’s pretty big, which is neat.
This week in Getting My Home Studio Back After Pawning it All for Coke Money a Couple Years Ago:
-Put a bunch of work into an MPC1k I bought on the cheap. Gave her a bath today, but a couple tact switches still aren’t triggering, so I gotta do surgery
-bought a Casiotone on CL for $25 (!) that is just begging to be circuit bent
-found an 80’s Proco Rat at a pawnshop for an incredibly low price and put it on layaway. Holy shit that thing sounds amazing. I got the newer model a few years back and it was absolute trash.
-picked up a Memory Toy to add some depth to aforementioned casiotone.
When things were looking real good for a few months 5 years ago, I was preparing to make a tiny mini studio next to my couch for quick writing and recording. I’m actually able to do that now in addition to my main set up. Never thought I’d be able to get back here 😌

Cool that he’s forgoing the nightmare physical copy landscape for a more communal listening experience. I’ve never been head over heels for wedknd, but I’m into the hype train for this one.
I love Haunted! I still check in every couple years to see if she’s dropped anything. Seems like she can’t due to label fuckery or something? I could be wrong.
The Cult is a band I only know from staring at the album covers through pop’s collection. The goat one is burned in my memory. I’m more than half considering doing a blog or IG of just rating every album in the collection completely subjectively. There’s a lot of blues rock (yuck), but he also got me into Pulp, Radiohead, and a bunch of other great stuff from the 90’s.
God, I was just thinking recently about how much I missed Radiohead rocking out. Both HTTT and Rainbows had such high energy songs with great rippin' guitars. Can't wait to hear more of these bad boys.
This one is sick. One of those covers that makes me wanna buy the album. The other one reminds me of that old man Foo Fighters video. No, not all of them for the last x years.
That description is from her is great/heavy. I can’t imagine being in a band with someone since age 16 and having the project blow up and be successful.
