Damn, I hadn't heard that either. Such a great band - I'll pour one out on the curb for him. Note how that song starts out - "Are you ready Steve?"

I don't recall hearing the John Williams theme on the radio. Just the various Meco interpretations......

Stumbled across this recently. The drums for Roseanna don't sound that complicated at first listen - it's not all showy like Peart or Bonham - but man, such attention to detail. Ghost notes, spooky! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMI81yIlT0Q

Exactly! It sounds like they're switching to a 6/8 or something, but then they stretch it back out to 8 quarter notes. Clever little trick. I haven't listened to a lot of Toto, but that Jeff Porcaro was alright.

The key moment for me is the rhythm during the bridge/ride-out section, the instrumental bit with the kalimba - it always sound to me like they're using a weird time signature. But it is in fact just 8 beats, with a weird accent on the 4th. That weird time shift gives it extra oomph. This song is a 10 for me. So is Rosanna!

Pyromania was such a great album - even if it is a pain in the ass to play along with on guitar, thanks to the tuning. This was a fave of my first girlfriend in high school, so it became my fave too, natch. I still play this one a lot - great songs, great production, great memories.

Well, this was at my pottery class last Wednesday, so...... (j/k, I was a high school sophomore, but we all still acted like 5th graders)

Kids in my class always sang it as "watch out boy, she'll chew your nuts." What a bunch of cut-ups we were.

It's the end of an era. But in the immortal words of Wattie, punk's not dead!

Upvoted for Trilogy of Terror, and that frickin' doll with the knife. Gah.

Much love for Never Surrender, definitely one of Triumph's biggest, er, triumphs. Trans hasn't held up for me so well, but Sample and Hold is always in my Neil Young playlists. That song was such a cool left turn for him.

Dio sure had the gift of the gab - lot of onstage patter on that album. Solid performances though.

Great song, great video. I love her voice, the drums, the guitar, the farfisa organ. Fun! It's an 8 for me too.

I preferred the Batman and Robin OST, with Underworld's Moaner (one of their finest), and Moloko's Fun for Me, a trip-hop classic.

I don't remember Truly at all - scanning the memory banks and the only thing that comes to mind is Still. Sounds like I'm better off skipping this one. Now Gloria, that was a banger - that should have been the #1.

Yeah, here's a random band-less video for the studio version, so you can actually hear the guitar. My favorite as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gES95UtYTr0&t=17s

Had no idea Lalonde was in a metal band...crazy. Speaking of Primus, they were supposed to be doing their Farewell to Kings tour right about now. Friggin' virus.

Plastic Surgery Disasters was the DKs finest moment, imho. Side A is full of speedy punk bangers like Halloween, while side 2 actually slowed things down a bit and added some, dare I say, melody. Here's Moon Over Marin, and its mournful guitar lines from East Bay Ray: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7Gc2n8QBLY
