UGLY CHILDREN AND CHILDISH MUSICIANS DO NOT MELT STEEL.
FUNK SLAP BASS MIXED WITH THE DANCEHALL DOES.
Where was Crooked Hillary the day "From Chaos" dropped? At a hold steady concert. Ha, ya, explain that. It's liberal music sites like this that blind us the from the truth. Open yr eyes people, jesus christ, lol it's not that complicated!!
smh.
This summer ol dad has been listening to radiohead - burn the witch, and, of course, skepta - ladies hit squad "IT'S OOOOOOOOooooH"
Honourable mentions:
Weezer -summer elaine and drunk dori
blood orange - augustine
strokes - threat of joy
also, the end of schoolboy - eddie kane where it goes "We're next to go, around, around, around"
"isn’t that the logical endpoint of a decade-plus of internet music consumption? We’ve all spent all this time finding music on our computers and piping that music directly into our ears, rarely if ever having real-life conversations about some of the artists who mean the most to us. Why shouldn’t we be dedicating entire festivals to that same antisocial experience?"
This is perfect.
Jerry makes a fair point. Regardless of your typography biases and options, we can all agree that Sufjan is talented but stupid also. One of the things that most (all?) reviews/think pieces often miss when they discuss the intricate connections between Sufjan's past and his music is that Sufjan was identified from a young age as being stupid also. Makes you think...
Justin should focus on making amends for this bullshit because this deserves a life sentence-IN FASHION JAIL LMFAO WHO'S WITH ME????

311 WAS AN INSIDE JOB. REGGAE ROCK DOESN'T MELT THE HOLD STEADY. STAY WITH ME STEEPLE.
Totally. Under control vibes all over this baby, and I'll be DAMNED if it doesn't take me back to the summer of '02. Uncle D was just a young thing then, and you know damn right all the girlies were indifferent to Papa D.
Hell yeah. Man.
My boys,
As we turn the corner toward the 2nd half of 2016, so too turns the bells toward a new chapter of their career. I loves me some bells, generally. As the rest of the world, I too was disappointed by Bitter Rivals. I felt bitter (lmfao) at the direction of the band. The sound of the music and lyrical content seemed to be oriented toward a youth audience - I know this is kind of their ethos or whatever whatever but it didn't have the edge anymore.
With this track, I'm still not feeling the lyrics. Unless I'm missing something "pop rocks and coke" doesn't do it for me. Also why the random reference to Tuesday? It's like when the Weeknd singled out Thursday. Feels arbitrary. I hear a lot of amazing pieces in this track. Exciting beats that make my pantaloons jazz in a way no man or woman can/could/would/or ever will (i have no one). BUT, I can't help but wish that some of these piece had been longer than 30 second blips. It's like if Beach Girls was just 30 seconds slammed in the middle of another song. That said it's definitely an interesting track and one that I have come back to a few times already. It just doesn't grab me and shake me violently until I cry like a youngling, the way Comeback Kid or Infinity Guitars did. I know you can't go back, but, damn, it's hard not to, eh friends?
You know your old dad loves you very much.

Miss you boys too. I'm gonna make some changes. I should come around more; I don't want to miss these special years - they go by quickly.
Well, just gotta pop out for a pack of smokes. Never forget how much I love you.
THEY'RE SCREAMING THE STROKES BACK. THE STROKES BACK.
THERE'S ALL THESE BITCHES SCREAMING THAT THE STROKES BACK...

... more or less.
I get that he eventually got into it, but it still seems pretty outrageous to not fully rap "the oldies." It would be unacceptable for a guitarist to mime their oldies and then play their ass off for later songs.
I guess what I'm getting at is I think it's problematic when a reviewer has to write that a performer was eventually "fully engaged with the material" as if that isn't a given, especially when being "fully engaged" is equated with rapping. Future shouldn't be like starting your car in the winter. Dude should just rap off the go, because that's ALL HE HAS TO DO IN LIFE TO MAKE A MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.
The wake af tattoo is almost as lame as that tha carter iii and iv ripoff. Maybe he should get a red star on his dome lol

Very cool Peace
Using your voice to rap the lyrics is sort of the bare minimum for a rapper, no?
"At first, Rivers really relied on the pre-recorded backing track and only added small guitar flourishes throughout. But then he fully engaged with playing the guitar and he played the songs live, which was really incredible."
He didn't make the beats, he doesn't play an instrument, and he's not consistently rapping on stage? How low is the bar for CHRISTS sake? LMFAO. Feels like celebrity worship.
Sad.
