The majority of today's moderately successful bands would simply be yesterday's 'king of the scene', local bands. Without internet exposure and file sharing, most would be lucky to get regional College radio airplay and an opening slot for the national act that came through town. So, increased exposure does not equal a right to Nirvana-type money. 1,000,000 yt views does not equal $1,000,000. And most of the popular bands from the past, didn't make nearly as much money as was propagandized.
