Kidding, he'll be killed for it before his next trip.
With the amount of shit he's put up his nose he's probably not far from being destitute. I wouldn't be surprised if he has heavy debts too. I am surprised he's still alive, though.
Sixx: catfishing was more fun in the 80s Michaels: maybe for you - my piss STILL burns!
Killers are ok because their songs are melodic and catchy. Imagine Dragons are unlistenable because their songs are an idiot shouting monotonously over bad precussion.
But does Tom find Abbott attractive?
1. You stan her music. 2. You like to drag (insult, bully) her. Stands to reason you also like to see others insult and bully her. 3. You want her to learn from being bullied and insulted by thousands of strangers and the media. That is twisted and poisonous. Very Online Concerned People love to educate others, but it's nice to see someone own up to enjoying making someone's life miserable and show that that is the primary motivation in these pile ons. It's worth noting that I don't really care about her music - unlike you, I'm not a stan for her (or anyone).
The harmonized guitars tricking the listener into thinking that they're taking the second chorus is genius and makes the actual chorus that much more powerful. The end has another fake out: it seems like the chorus will come back one more time, but the song just drifts away.
Some people are too ill to "own their shit." It's one of the unfortunate side effects of mental illness. Seems like a lot of people only have compassion for the ill if they're sick in a way that they're comfortable with. It's almost like they're more interested in seeming like they're compassionate so people think they're good than they are in actually being compassionate and doing the work required to deal the contradictions.
There's a difference between working within a genre and cultural appropriation. Winwood clearly does the former.
It seems like Tom's grading of 80s cheese has a lot to do with who made the song. Were they around in the 60s? Minus 1 point. Are they British? Minus 2. Did they ever play the blues? Minus 1.
Tom would probably have agreed with you if Phil Collins' name was on the sleeve.
Bands as derivative as Chvrches usually start strong and fade away and it looks like the same thing will happen to them. Their prospects are even worse since their retro style was also The Cool Sound of the Moment. Bands with one of those traits are cursed. Bands with both are damned.
Hiring a musician with "a take" on jazz would be terrible regardless of their race. Reznor & Ross' jazz happens to be garbage. So does the idea that the race of the composer of the score correspond to the race of the main character.
It bums me out when I hear Bono sing songs that he recorded in his prime. His voice is 10 percent of what it was. He's a living anti-smoking PSA.
Nah, the CIA would have fucked it up like they do everything else.
He should definitely not be embraced at the moment, and successful people with addiction or mental health issues are often enabled, with disastrous consequences. Who knows how Mel (Fucking Asshole) Gibson would have turned out had the makers of Lethal Weapon not turned a blind eye to his downing a six pack for breakfast. His alcoholism was tolerated and it shouldn't have been, not least because it fuelled some abhorrent behaviour in his private life. Shia needs to go away, maybe go to jail and get treatment so he doesn't kill himself or someone else. Then, maybe, give acting a shot. Very, very few people are irredeemable and (almost) everyone deserves a few shots live properly & succeed.
Nobody said anybody has a right to be famous. People have the right to rehabilitation though, and it's not fair to demand that an actor cease to be an actor because of monstrous behaviour when we don't demand that of people in other professions. I think you'd be appalled if criminals were prevented from trying to a get a job in their field upon release. It would be a fucked up and dangerous road for society to take. If he doesn't get treatment and change his horrible ways then he can go fuck himself, of course. Rehabilitation > Punishment
It doesn't matter that it's an empty beach: he could have covid and could have encountered someone and given it to them. He's too old to be acting like such a fucking baby.
If he takes treatment for his disease and mental illness seriously there is no reason why he shouldn't be able to have an acting career. As a society, we can't say "addiction is a disease and addicts need our sympathy" while also saying that they should be exiled. The second sentiment undercuts the first, and successful addicts are no less deserving of compassion than addicts who live on the street. Good on FKA for suing him.
Impossible. The Stones can't be cast.
In response to criticism from social service agencies, he said "it's not like they can get pregnant."
I think it's a better example kf Matador being a good label that knows what it's doing. Groove Denied is sub par, and Sparkle Hard is wonderful. They still released Groove Denied too, and Malkmus' folky genre exercise this year. The Cat Power thing is something I take with a grain of salt. She's not terribly reliable.
Or he's a literate adult who's mature enough to understand that characters in fiction occasionally use objectionable language. Which isn't to say the song should be on the radio - it shouldn't, for the same reason that the Wire shouldn't be on NBC at 4 pm on weekdays. If it is gonna be played, just garble the offending word like they do with other songs that have cursing.
I don't know, he's made some pretty uncommercial moves. He basically spent the first half of the 70s releasing stoned flights of fancy that may or may not have been completed. Sgt Pepper & Magical Mystery Tour were also pretty uncommercial moves!
John peaked before hippies were a thing and drugs pretty much ruined his creativity. The only time he matched the quality and creativity of the first half of their career was when he was mostly drug free in India and wrote the White Album tracks. John dominated from 63-65. He was clearly the main (and best) songwriter. They were equals in 66 & 68, and Paul was the guiding force in 67 and 69/70. I'd take 63-65 over 67 & 69/70 any day. Hard Day's Night is the best pop album ever and it's almost all John. People say Paul's the melodicist in the band as though Lennon wasn't melodic, but those Beatlemania hits were mostly John's songs. Those melodies aren't amazing? One reason I generally prefer John's songs to Paul's is because John didn't bring the songs in knowing what he wanted everyone to plat. He let them contribute their parts (like George's lead on You Can't Do That), so they had more inventive playing. Paul generally knew what he wanted them to do, so there was less room for them to shine. One final point: Paul was always trying to impress John. He wanted John's approval more than anything.
Oh man, this take always cracks me up. The guy who wrote: Don't Bother Me If I Needed Someone I Need You You Like Me To Much Taxman Love You To I Want to Tell You Only A Northern Song Old Brown Shoe Within You Without You Savoy Truffle While My Guitar Gently Weeps Piggies Something Here Comes the Sun is better than the guys who wrote almost everything else? George's best songs - which are GREAT - are like average John & Paul songs. Those guys were on a different level. George is the best guitarist of all time though. Every part he played on a Beatles song is perfect. He was a genius, and it's impossible to think of John & Paul's songs without them, or without Ringo's perfect drumming.
These adults who whine about not getting a trophy are pathetic.
People are so in love with conflating being offended with being a good person that they don't seem to understand that the character in the song is speaking, and that changing a word in a poem dramatically alters its effect. People who are offended by the lyrics of this song come off as illiterate. Have they never read a book where a character uses objectionable language? Have they never seen the Wire? I don't think the song should be on the radio, though. At least not during the day when children are listening. Adults should have the maturity to hear cursing though, and they should have the intelligence to distinguish between a character in a song calling someone a faggot and and the singer directing the word at a real person or people.
Are these lyrics for a lost Steely Dan song?
Going with anyone from SNL over anyone from the Wire is on the same level as never giving the Wire an Emmy. If Wendell Pierce wants to be in your movie, you let him be in your movie, especially if its to play B.B. King. He'd do the man justice.
What he's saying is that Bowie wasn't theatrical and he clearly was. He also had a naturally great voice.
"Bowie was the owner of one of the coolest voices in pop music, but he always got over on tone and personality, not on vocal theatrics." Tom hasn't heard much Bowie, has he?
It's available for international streaming too. Here's part 2 with Paul. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000n5pr
But then again, you're not to blame You're just a human, a victim of the insane Absolutely shattering, every damn time. John's vocal on this song is...oh man, just go listen if you haven't heard it.
It's just art deco. Its quality is more concerning than its style.
Trent Reznor should induct Depeche and Depeche should induct NIN and they should induct T Rex together.
You will be able to download it. If it's set to "private" instead of being removed you might be able to stream it.
