Also I hope they're working on new stuff cause The Talkies is a phenomenal record
Maybe I'm just being ignorant but it seems like they've invented a new type of person that they're trying to not offend. Surely nobody in their right mind is taking any offense to a group of dudes called Girl Band
Damn why didn't that embed properly what am I doing wrong

For some reason I thought April was about 9 months away and overreacted slightly. Still, it's a long time to wait. The song is beautiful. Feel like they had to choose a completely different way to end an album this time because nothing could ever rival the enormousness of Donnie Darko
There was a spate of reports of it last month, but as far as I'm aware there hasn't been any evidence that anyone was drugged by injection. Drink spiking sadly always rises around freshers week and all it took was a couple of vague reports of needles being used for the media to irresponsibly run away with it, which has inevitably led to more reports. Young girls who may have had their drink spiked are obviously terrified of a new and impossible to defend against means of attack, and will inevitably assume the worst. I'm not saying it's not happening at all, and these reports need to be investigated thoroughly, but the logistics behind it make it really difficult to understand how and why anyone would choose this way of spiking someone.
Obviously I'm gunna have to wait until the dead of night to spin this but I'm excited to get lost in it
There's about 10 albums I'm excited for this week, madness. Didn't even know Strange Ranger had a new one dropping!
Also love her commitment to the really basic black and white album covers!
Hell fucking yeah, Molly is a legend and this bangs
Yikes what an idiot. Thanks!
Can't believe the debut was 4 years ago! This is absolutely great, so desperate for another album
Holy hell this write up has got me hyped for this! I love everything they've done but I think the more scrappy vibes of Whenever, If Ever still make it my favourite
You're all out of your minds the cover is brilliant
Ah hell yeah, totally forgot she had a new one coming out
The rollout for this Tirzah album has been so fucking long, but I'm very excited that it's finally here. Planning to get lost in it all weekend
I absolutely love this band!

Great piece, really excited for this! I can never quite put my finger on what makes her music so hypnotic but every time I listen to Devotion I'm completely transfixed
So so excited for this. After Turnstile and Simz I'm almost certain this is gunna be a third aoty contender in as many weeks. In amongst all the great stuff recently I missed that Anthony Naples dropped a new one on Friday. I've had that on repeat all day and it's absolutely gorgeous
"Everything at Once" is one of my favourite EPs of the last few years, everything on it is so vibrant and bright and over the top, hopefully the album lives up to it. I guess we'll find out in... nearly half a year?!?!
Unbelievably excited for this one. She's the most interesting British rapper around at the moment in my opinion, and the singles have all been fire
This rules. She rules
I caught the tour for this and it was one of the most incredible shows I've ever been to. Two icons just putting on a completely outrageous spectacle, it'll stick with me forever
I just don't get the insane critical reaction to Dave. This album is fine, it's pretty good in patches, but seeing so many people position him as the voice of a generation is a little baffling to me. Is there something I'm missing?
I'm so game for a return to this sound. The song is beautiful
This is a fantastic interview, thank you! I caught them when they were touring Psychic and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen so I'm praying some UK dates some time soon
I was gunna say the same thing, really wasn't expecting to see that here!
Excited to give this a spin before going to sleep later. I mostly liked Forever but found it a bit hard to get through the middle stretch of that album whereas Like Author, Like Daughter is front to back incredible.
I think you're actually right there and they didn't boo that one, largely because the pre-amble to that game was about showing support to Eriksen. But they booed the Russian one and you could hear boos during the Wales one coming from their fans that had made the trip to Amsterdam. The Italy fans have booed anthems this tournament when they played in Rome, and their few fans at Wembley during the semi booed the Spain anthem. Did you see England v Scotland in the group stages? You could barely hear God Save the Queen through their boos. I do think it's been more prevalent at this Euros than any tournament I've seen before and it is a little crass but it's part of the partisanship and pantomime of international football. England fans have a long list of really awful, shameful behaviour down the years and I just don't think this particular act belongs on that list. It's relatively harmless and the anger all seems a bit performative - but maybe I just think that because, to me, the idea of a national anthem in itself is an inherently silly thing!
Yeah I'll admit it feels strange siding with some of the very worst people in society, I just think the act itself is unequivocally funny. You're accusing me of not watching matches not involving England when it's clear you haven't paid attention to the whole tournament. The Denmark fans themselves booed the opposing anthems in their group games in Copenhagen, and they booed the Welsh anthem in the quarters. It's all part of the pantomime baby! But if you really don't like it perhaps you should root for England's opponents on Sunday, famed for showing respect during other team's national anthems: https://youtu.be/sQh5zkWOa0U
Yeah if there's truth to that it's all horrific and not that surprising unfortunately. I'm not defending England fans, just saying it's bizarre that a bit of booing has been added to the long list of appalling behaviour over the years. That's about the least problematic thing English fans have ever done! Literally everyone does it, I don't know why it's even become a talking point.
Get a grip man, the only thing here that's over the line is the laser pointer. Did you watch any of the group games that Denmark played in Copenhagen? They did all of those things. Everyone does those things.
In all seriousness I hope the laser guy is caught and banned from football for life, there is no place for that. The booing the anthem discourse is sanctimonious bullshit. National anthems are, at best, goofy and stupid and, at worst, celebratory of the worst parts of many countries' histories of nationalism. And booing them is good banter. Literally everyone does it and it's funny. I hope the few Italians at Wembley on Saturday boo our stupid song about our divinely elected head of state who shouldn't really exist, and I hope we boo their song about dipping pizza crust in the blood of their enemies. And I hope it boils everyone's piss again.
