http://giphygifs.s3.amazonaws.com/media/cNhCthqYfFzyg/giphy.gif I'll add - saw these guys open for Caracara, and it was the most sparsely attended show I have ever been to. Maybe... 7-8 people for Dogleg's opening set. And still, their energy was fucking INSANE. Can't wait to hear the album, and can't wait to see them on a proper headlining tour. Hell yeah.

Not a 1:1 correspondence, but this is scratching that same itch that Caracara scratches with "Better" or "Oh, Brother." This is really fucking awesome music.

"He then retreated into international cult stardom, moved to Brooklyn, had a summit in the Australian wilderness with legendary didgeridoo player Djalu Gurruwiwi, made another album with his band the Basics, and turned down millions in royalties by opting against pre-roll ads on his YouTube channel." Didn't realize it til now, but I am compelled to stan.

1) The fact that he basically pulled *that* off proves his greatness beyond a shred of doubt. 2) Taylor white-girl bopping to Kendrick saying, "back when i was 9, joey packed the 9..... with the sliding door, fuck is up, fuck you shootin for if you aint walkin up you fuckin punk" is....

Saw him in 2012 at my college before GKMC dropped. I dunno if it was even announced yet, but I think The Recipe had dropped. I was basically grabbing people by the shirt collars yellling at them about the second coming in the weeks leading up. Most of them were planning on being passed out on the grass anyway. I think my twin brother threw up on the floor of a restaurant that afternoon and his poor girlfriend had to clean him up and take care of him.

A thorough and concise retrospective, though really this guy's decade deserves a full-length nonfiction book. As someone who has been following Kendrick closely since the day he dropped OD (s/o 2dopeboyz) watching him grab and hold pop culture in the palm of his hand has been immensely gratifying. Can't wait to see where he goes next. Few things have matched my excitement at getting The Heart Pt. 4 and knowing we were getting another classic within a few weeks, without that killer track even on it.

Saying that the Watchmen series whips ass is a colossal understatement. I love it, on like every single level, so so so much. I could talk about it all day, every day. Even broke my anti-podcast stance (fight me) to listen to the official one.

Rhye kinda exist in their own universe but both albums are great, the second is probably even better than the first, and The Fall stands alone as a perfect song.
