Oops, I think longtime friend, newish producer would be more accurate.
He did say that he thinks both guys will be on the new album in some way. That'll probably be the best way to tell how amiable and chill this was.
I talked to James via phone yesterday, so these are all original quotes. Bands like to line up all their interviews on the same day. And they tend to repeat themselves.
I'm trying for this, mostly because it's person I'm most curious about too. Thanks!
This is a summary...I talked to them for an hour. And cracked four Paul McCartney jokes. But who cares about my jokes?
They announced "Kissing The Beehive" as the album title, then found out there was a book with the same name, which potentially meant all sorts of legal problems.
He'll admit that other albums he's done are good or at least "better," but he said there's no point to that. He just makes stuff, and likes making stuff. It doesn't affect him if you (or he) thinks it's bad, and it doesn't affect him if you (or he) thinks it's good. Part of why I like talking to bands while they're recording is to hear how they relate to their recent past work, or how they're working now. Krug's in his own universe.
Yeah, agreed. This was on the list last year, but I'm working on it now.
This particular post? Or the column?
Next you're gonna tell me Africa isn't a country. Guys are gonna fix, thanks for catching that.
It reminds of either a French album cover, or an ad for Lee jeans.
Did you send enough money for postage? http://www.dieslaughterhausrecords.com/shipping.jpg
I agree. I think she's worried about it looking too much like the cover to Hearts & Unicorns, but I like the continuity. And the ridiculously long hair.
