Yeah I love that their sound doesn’t change. This song takes me back even tho I’m hearing it for the first time.
One of my most listened to albums over the past 20 years. As a mostly internet-averse 40-something I find this resurgence pretty neat.
And it’s good! Hopefully people don’t get demoitis.
Haha. Sorry that was a little much.
For fuck sakes. Get a job lady.
This would later become the most over used chord progression of the 90s. This song holds up tho.
I found Joshua Tree on tape in a thrift store when I was ten. The town I lived in didn’t have rock radio so I had no idea anyone else had ever heard it. I performed with or without you at a talent show when I was 11 and regrettably I said “here is a song that I wrote. “Lol. Most people thought I was kidding and others taught me a lesson in lying and trying to steal.
Beautiful. You can have it back was the first song by them that I didn’t love, it was a little too cheesy. This hits the spot. Listening to all 4 singles together I’m excited again.
Wow mine is quite different but respect. I don’t think there is a definitive ranking with his work. Pretty consistent. 1. St 2. Pig Lib (and bonus ep!) 3. Real Emotional Trash 4. Face the truth 5. Mirror Traffic 6. Sparkle Hard 7. Wig Out at Jagbags 8. Transitional Techniques 9. Groove Denied
Wow 20 years already. This was a big one for me. On a friends invitation I went to see Malkmus on this tour without having heard a single pavement song. The band wasn’t quite up to standard that the Jicks would reach but I was a fan right away. Among my favourite malkmus related projects.
Exactly. I don’t like it when people endanger others health but context is needed here, there are many beaches in Kauai with few to no people on them. Seems likely his property could be on one of those and keeping six feet or more away from other people would be easy.
Bummer. Sounds like being a Canadian musician.
Thanks for the solid recommendation. I Didnt know he had solo albums. Had liberation on all day..quality. I miss seeing peters diving bass energy on stage with the Walkman.
Normally a princess Diane movie wouldn’t interest me however Jackie was the my favourite film and favourite score of 2016. Greenwood has a flawless score record so far. Excited to experience it.
It’s kind of to be expected that when you make a noisy record at this point in time it will have limited appeal but I agree and listen to Rough Dog nearly everyday. Excited for my day with this record.
One of my most listens to songs this year. That was so moving watching it with the lyrics in this setting. Beautiful start to my day.
They made their best album with out him so I have my doubts that this is a good thing. But he did start the band so fair enough.
I’m so happy for Dan that this is considered a classic now. Streethawk will always be my favourite but Bay Of Pigs is now my most listened to Destroyer song and probably my favourite long song ever. A lot of my friends that I took to destroyer shows over the years hated it but actually came around when this album came out. That was when I first realized this was something special.
