Eaux Claires 2018: Justin plays 22 times and you pay a million
Stereogum Confession: I've never read an entire cokeparty story, but I really like the guy. Your turn!

Chris is a good, honest, and nice person. In the words of Mark Hollis, in his song referencing the novel 'Dice Man,' this is ...SUCH A SHAME!!!
I was so into Anticon at the end of high school. Still spin Subtle, cLOUDDEAD , Why?, Jel...etc Great Label. Great music.
We need a 'Royal Wedding / Morrissey' Split
They're really bucking the ham on this one
Meanwhile Rococo Zephyr sits on the shelves
Fuck it. I'm digging the new Okkervil River.
I keep going back to 'Don't Move Back to LA'. Maybe because it reminds me of 'Happiness is a Warm Gun' or something.
but you will never be born as a scorpion
I used to post of my own volition
Salvador Dali and Clockwork Orange posters for sale at the merch table
The ending to 'Believe' is really fucking good.
I was at that show! I remember how pumped he was after that as well. And that quote. Nice.
like a monkey with a miniature cymbal?
I might rival inthedeadofknight for the biggest Iceage fan here. This song is great, but damn it's got some straight riffs from Jubilee Street's ending jam on it + PJ Harvey sounding backing vocals. I never liked comparing these guys to Nick Cave, but this one is making it difficult.
This song is good.
Good write-up. Listening now. Really liked the singles. Really good live band as well.
"Jack White is Rolling Stone magazine in band form." This is fucking hilarious!
"It’s a total stunner, stark and mesmerizing..." Agreed, Tom. This is right there with "Who Will Love Me Now?" Her songs for films are unreal.
Getting some Portishead vibes...specifically 'Third.' Really cool.
I like Elon Musk, think "You Missed My Heart" by Mark Kozelek is an overlooked amazing song, and think Ought, Iceage, and Julia Holter should be way bigger. Am I leaving Stereogum or is Stereogum leaving me? I'm sad.
Crap Kraft Dinner!
"The Grammys are meaningless" / "____ should have won." Which is it
Would naming the album "Timber Lake" have been clever or incredibly cheese?

Is it really that surprising that the lord isn't returning
one more stock and I can own ya
Reminds me how much I used to love Pitchfork's Guest List. I got tipped off to so many bands that other bands liked, but critics didn't cover.
Gabriela with that holiday spirit typo. She just can't hate on her friends.
^ underrated joke on the heir/hair typo
"But, in some ways, isn’t that how it always is? The commenters that wind up defining an era, that really rise up as the primary names that use as shorthand in the decades since, are often commenters that bore some qualities or characteristics of their time but also sounded singular within it. Did blochead and raptor jesus really sound like 2007 any more than they do 2017?" "On some fundamental level, that’s all that really matters. Not all commenters are equipped to make great State Of The World comments; not all of these commenters have the voices we need to hear from on the level of, say, dollface in 2017. That’s OK. That’s something a lot of these commenters know, too."
