626 - 288 - 1958 = -1985 1985 is 3 years before 311 formed in 1988, and 11 years before their first big hit "Down" went to #1 on the Modern Rock charts. Someone here needs to learn mandarin and find out the truth!!

Never really stopped listening to Capacity since it came out so I decided to preorder UFOF. It came today 😀

I didn't get around to listening to/watching Cellophane until this morning, oddly enough from the Taylor Swift article and HartfordTheWhale's comment on it. I didn't actually watch or listen to ME! but Cellophane did make me briefly feel whole again anyway. I had a hard time getting into LP1 back when it came out but right now I am completely into it. Cellophane is totally different so I'm interested to see where she's going.

Did a little googling and it's pretty similar, though it looks slightly more like the Groom Cross in Texas. http://miratico.com/worlds-largest-crosses-reach-high-for-the-sky/ But maybe it is the Effingham cross, the width being 113 feet...

When Roy Blunt's mouth is open lies are coming out, but I'd be totally surprised if one of those lies was "You're Beautiful"

That's fair I guess. I haven't been a huge fan of Weezer lately or the original No Scrubs and wouldn't have cared if I wasn't forced to listen to it.

Speaking of No Scrubs, I heard the Weezer version when I was at dinner tonight and I really wanted to die.

For some reason instead of thinking of the correct song I first was thinking of a punk version of Laura Branigan's Gloria and now I want that to be a thing.

I kind of laugh at the comments I've seen about Soccer Mommy being "See Snail Mail" in a "funny because it's true" way. Snail Mail took a long time to grow on me but I ended up liking it a lot. Soccer Mommy was a bit more immediate. I wish I connected with the Adrienne Lenker album more since I loved the last 2 Big Thief albums (though this might fit the same category as Snail Mail/Soccer Mommy).

Yes! I think I had seen complaints when Care came out that he was pretty corny and there was a lot of truth to that, but I didn't find much corny about The Anteroom. And maybe people were put off by the murky vocals but I was totally here for that.

We do! Thanks for yours too - some of the albums you listed I liked a lot even if I didn't have them in my list (Beths, Matthew Dear, Robyn, Holy Motors). And I think I listened to Wild Pink when it first came out, probably need to give it another go.

Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever - Hope Downs 24. Snail Mail - Lush 25. Kali Uchis - Isolation I didn't listen to a ton of rap this year, for whatever reason. I only gave a few spins to Saba, Noname, Vince and Earl though I did enjoy them a lot. I wasn't going to bother with Dose Your Dreams since I liked David Comes to Life but didn't love how long it was, and then I never really connected with Glass Boys. So it was really surprising when I gave it a chance that it ended up being one of my favorites this year. There's plenty of other albums I really liked this year that I didn't list, and I'm looking forward to scouring this page for more albums I've missed and need to check out. So I'm happy with the way things went this year in music. Apprehensive about things in general, but what else is new.

I wasn't out when I started commenting here - and I guess I don't always comment, most of the time I start to type a comment then cancel it and sprinkle some upvotes instead. But it's been really helpful for me to see a wide variety of queer people here and the whole community being so supportive. I think it helped me when I did start opening up to people in real life. Unlike most sites, coming to the comments here often actually restores some faith in humanity. Plus I always like when people here remind me to listen to good music I've been ignoring. Thank you Dan for this, and thank you everyone. I love you all.

I was just telling someone yesterday that the 2010s lists are going to start the middle of next year and didn't even think about this list coming today. 1. Hop Along - Bark Your Head Off, Dog (although I just discovered Painted Shut and have been listening to it even more) 2. A.A.L. - 2012-2017 3. Beach House - 7 4. DJ Koze - Knock Knock (although I just discovered Amygdala and have been listening to it even more) 5. Jeff Rosenstock - POST- 6. Parquet Courts - Wide Awake! 7. Hookworms - Microshift 8. Janelle Monae - Dirty Computer 9. MGMT - Little Dark Age 10. Lucy Dacus - Historian Too early to tell but I liked them so far: FJM, Iceage, Jon Hopkins, illuminati hotties Also I keep forgetting to listen to Car Seat Headrest. I listened to Twin Fantasy a ton before he redid it this year and loved it, and I actually like the new version even better. But I haven't spent as much time with it so I didn't include it in the list.
