apparently Doomtree dropped a new song this week, which is cool (the song's not too bad either). I was a big POS fan in highschool around the time Never Better dropped, he seemed like the coolest person. good time to revisit that album, I bet "Purexed" still bangs

I'm already familiar know all (most?) of Nico's stuff! I'm more of a Sirens guy (specifically, the deluxe edition, because all those extra tracks are incredible), but Space never fully clicked with me. I should give it another shot sometime, maybe this time it will. I really love the Nymphs series too - incredible stuff

happens to me constantly. how the fuck do you open an album with that and then manage to keep it on the same energy throughout? damn, Nicolas!

still haven't had the chance to really dive into the new Real Estate, but it was on during the day and it was pretty good. can't wait to fall in love with it. however, I will not tolerate any In Mind slander. that album was great and severely underrated. don't you dare tell me Two Arrows, Serve the Song and Darling aren't three of their all time greatest songs!

I know this feature tends to focus on singles that dropped during the week but the real best SOTW is King Krule - Stoned Again. What a massive track, just perfect. I never seem to be able to fully connect with his albums but when he makes a song that sticks with me it seems to encompass everything else, so this song is that!

Anyone else here just constantly listening to the new Against All Logic album since it came out? It's so fucking good, honestly. I liked the previous one a lot, but this one is just on a whole other level. My favorite album of the year so far save for Mac Miller. Anyone here cares to recommend similar techno-ish stuff I should know about? it's all I can listen to while writing essays this month apparently, and I still have 3 of those coming up, so recs will be appreciated! Shabbat Shalom!

If they are as good as the album from last year (which, so far, they are!) then sign me the fuck up

I wanted to thank you for constantly pushing this as well - had this in my new releases playlist because of Alc but would've probably never gotten around to it (as I always do) if it wasn't for you. I fucking love this dude's voice. Very good shit.

Definitely. It's closer to Swing Lo Magellan in sound than to the S/T (which I absolutely love, but I get that isn't for everyone)

I think Longstreth has been on a real streak with his last few releases, and this is no different. Female vocalists always seem to bring out the best parts in his music. this is very lovely!

the bass is incredible. the middle part sounds like it was ripped out of an old NES game. I dig this.

I fully expected to hate it just from the description, but it is great

The previous 31G cover compilations are really wild rides. The Queen one is pretty great, and the Blood Brothers cover of Under Pressure is a must hear. I'm not really familiar with the Cramps but I love the crazy assortment of bands they picked for this one so excited to hear what it sounds like (more Daughters is always great)

and I've got a real BTS slap bracelet that I got from standing in a very real 50-minute queue to get into the unbelievably real BTS concept store in Gangnam to prove it

I was just listening to her on repeat this weekend! Excellent studying music and just generally a great album. Good timing, I expect this album to be great. I really loved her collab with John Hopkins from last year as well

with pleasure! I made an Israeli hip-hop playlist a while ago that I posted in one of the Shut Up, Dudes, you might find some more stuff you like there, most of it is recent shit & almost all in Hebrew: https://spoti.fi/2kzk8xl

So happy they're not taking a decade and a half break this time around. Really loving the artwork too. that being said, while the song's pretty it doesn't really feel like good single material to me - would probably work so much better as an album deep cut, the sort the Avalanches are known for. But I'm very excited for a new album!

My favorite new rap album at the moment is the debut album from local heroine Sima Noon. Besides having a rap career she's the vocalist of the pretty successful pop-punk band Not on Tour and does incredible screaming in the local powerviolence/hardcore juggernauts Moom, so you can tell she's pretty badass. I don't know how raps in Hebrew sound to non-speakers but I think the beats are pretty banging in all languages so check it out on Spotify if you feel like it. this one's my fav track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecCf9lBJ1FE

this genre is extremely my shit so I'll definitely check that out. another recent release I really liked of the same genre is Kota the Friend's Lyrics to Go, Vol. 1 (which I believe I already mentioned here?), which is an incredibly chill 15 minute offering. all songs are under 2 minutes but it's a pretty fun listen!
