Last Untitled album caught me by a complete surprise and currently places high in my AOTY list. I was more ready for this one and it is fucking great. how the fuck do they do this

Their best LP imo and one of my favorite albums in general

I'm 100% with you - last album of theirs I plain LOVED was Mutilator, been listening to everything else but other than a couple songs from each I find them hard to return too. Only exception was Face Stabber, which I thought was considerably stronger but too long to really sink my teeth into. However, haven't listened to this in full yet but the singles ripped my face to shreds and the short running time has me really excited that this could be a return to form (or at least the specific form I want them to be in!)

CARE FOR ME is one of my favorite albums of the past few years and I've been furiously waiting new solo material from Saba - this is definitely as good as I hoped it would be

It's incredible as is everything this crew and its members put out in the past few years. so so good

You kinda expect his voice to clash with the laid-back beat, but this is pretty good! His output this year has been pretty great, the short feature/interlude on Amine's album is one of my favorites of the year

September 15, 2020 on slowthai – “Feel Away” (Feat. James Blake & Mount Kimbie)
I thought the Elton John one was a lot more enjoyable to be honest. Could be because I'm a bigger Queen fan than an EJ one, so it just felt like a bigger insult. At least both featured good music...

I was just listening to Since I Left You right now! good timing, very excited for this record, I wish it came in sooner but I guess we all need some good things on the horizon to hold us together in these times

September 14, 2020 on The Avalanches – “Music Makes Me High” & “Take Care In Your Dreaming” (Feat. Denzel Curry, Tricky, & Sampa The Great)
I agree! it was really badly received but I thought it was a pretty enjoyable (if forgettable) reunion effort. I enjoyed it at the time and it never made me regret its existence like "Freedom" did. need to revisit this one!

September 11, 2020 on James Blake – “Godspeed” (Frank Ocean Cover)
I thought that most of these singles were really underwhelming, but this insane tracklist still has me really hyped about the full album thing. hope it hold up! very interested in the Earthgang and JPEG/CHAI(!!) tracks. Also, how come Damon has never worked with Beck before?! sounds too obvious of a pairing

September 9, 2020 on Gorillaz – “Strange Timez” (Feat. The Cure’s Robert Smith)
Dirty Projectors, Ben Gibbard and Kip Berman (of The Pains of Being.... / The Natvral) are the only ones who had the honor of both being covered and contributing a cover. Interesting!

This band fucking rips. Excellent album title! Seeing as they're borderline screamo, I feel like this is a good place to recommend the new (and sadly final) EP from Binary, "Fall From Grace Face Down". Glorious late 00s screamo

I mean I'm sure as shit not going to listen to this, but that's literally the point of BBC Live Lounge, they invite artists to cover contemporary pop songs in their own style. some of these covers obviously suck and some don't (and I assume that they can't sing the original lyrics because radio censorship). but it's not like they're choosing to cover this out of nowhere. not everything is supposed to be ironic (ffs can't believe I'm speaking out for Biffy Clyro I fucking hate this band)

September 3, 2020 on We Regret To Inform You That Biffy Clyro Covered “WAP”
Fuck yeah, for me this is the best singles run Oh Sees have had in about half a decade. Always excited for their records but I feel like this could finally be the banger I've been waiting for since Mutilator. So so so good
