So glad that this includes bad luck- that song fucking rules. Also glad it’s 9 tracks. I love this band but Siesta was too long
God damn that’s a hell of a setlist. Only got to see Jason touring as Magnolia Electric Co (obviously lucky I got to see him at all) but man. Might have to join one of these secret societies to get the record.
The other site’s review mentions mount eerie, and this write up drops Bill Callahan and Georgia Hubley? Just hook it to my veins.
I saw an article that she was getting like $700,000 per night of this thing. I’d be crying too.
True I forgot about the /all link I was using that for a bit after the switch. I just couldn’t believe I had been awake for half the day and somehow didn’t know there was a new big thief single out today- it had just been buried by the time I checked on the west coast.
Kicking Every Day is suuuuch a great record
I only agree with this in the sense that stereogum on mobile makes it so annoying to find articles from even 4 hours ago on days like this with tons of new releases. I have to scroll past the top commented articles that are all from days ago, the three most recent number ones articles, and a million ads just to see songs that were released this morning.
Like many commenters, Jason is a huge Mannequin Pussy fan, which rules.
Been playing the other singles from this so so much. Truly cannot wait for the full length.
Damn how much of a nerd were you if these kids were your bullies??
Great news! Can they please please repress the first LP while they’re at it?
It was so bad. His voice sounded somehow pumped in from elsewhere during a lot of the second song too. Like his mouth would be nowhere near the mic but it was getting louder? It also sounded like he was doing an impression of a singer instead of just singing, if that makes any sense.
I actually really like the follow up, the devil, you + me
I spent my twenties collecting all of these already! But I still want the box and the book because I am insane. Also still doesn’t include Blood and Little Bird Flies Into a Big Black Cloud, so I can be snobby about those I guess forever.
You don’t know Fred again…? Don’t you read the comment section!?!
Got my tickets lineup unseen there’s no way they don’t pull out a great one for the 10th anniversary
I totally forgot about that 4ad covers album. Dry cleaning’s oblivion is pretty good!
Love it, love Aldous. Interested to see if her quote about her voice being tiny means the vocals are like this on every track- I love when she gets into her lower register. But she knows what she’s doing so I’m into it.
The word “honeydew” sounds so perfect over this type of music it’s almost shocking there isn’t a chapterhouse or pale saints song with that title already
Like the song more than most of what ended up on the last record. It’s weird that Ellen is still a show.
They should just play the music of the former-openers before they go on stage and have copies of their records and merch for sale- missing out on access to the disposable income of the average WOD fan is gonna be a huge blow to these acts.
Oh man this old transistor transistor song. I fucking loved that band.
Good for her- it’s Vegas. It should be cartoonish and stupid and over the top and I personally would love to be absolutely hammered watching her twerk with a cartoon turd and drinking titty beers in between those teenage dream songs.
I went to two stores in Boston and saw multiple copies used already. I also saw the Adele LP in the fucking airport neck pillow store lol
I am now popular enough to take a stand against the person who helped me get popular enough to be able to take a stand against him.
There was one year that the palladium basically already hosted this event, but two separate shows and no thrice lol. Saves the day, dashboard, the anniversary, hot rod circuit The get up kids, alkaline trio, the Appleseed cast My dad hung out in the parking lot in the car reading a book during both shows (I was 13/14). After one of them he told me he saw one of the bands in the parking lot. It was Hot Rod Circuit and he had them sign the cover of the book he was reading like an insane person.
Wish they had gone with my 20th anniversary suggestion of Sean Astin showing up at my house for some nugs, chillin and grindage.
The videos from this with Candy still playing at least one full song while the pipe gushed gallons and gallons of water are so good. The wizard security guy who everyone who has ever been to a punk show in Boston surely knows was on stage with his flashlight instantly.
Smalltown Boy is one of my favorite music videos of all time. The courage it must have taken to put that out in 1984 as the first introduction to your band- fuck. It goes without saying that the song is a monster as well. RIP.
The person who slightly rephrases a popular tweet and disguises it as their own original thought?
Saw them at Desert Daze this year and was blown away.
The Turning Wheel is in my top 5 and I know my top one won’t get any other votes, so I’m throwing my weight behind Spellling with you.
Damn. Over and over. my subwoofer is shaking my whole house which is just making my raised arm-hairs dance. And no I didn’t have any of stereodog’s shrooms.
