This show just ran again today 15 April 2012. I'm a U.S.Marine Sgt. Robinson, J.G.(Ret), AND I am one of a Truly Dying Breed," A True Southern Gentlemen ", Therefore I will not stoop so low as to talk( cuss) and carry own so much over nothing. I'm a combat Vet from The Gulf War and I have my own little saying "It's not Stress, Unless You're Getting Shot At!" I just turned the T.V. on to what it was left on last night and this count down was on. Being a VERY PASSIONATE MUSIC LOVER I thought "What the heck, Probably nothing Better on anyway" I knew that VH1 or any other "Modern" countdown wouldn't come close to getting it right, but I was more curious as to just how wrong they got it. Finding out that they polled 200 "So Called "ARTIST" giving them only a 1 - 5 list ballot to vote with that this was meant to be more controversial that Correct, but like I said my curiosity got the best of me so I wasted the time watching mainly just to see if the would put Michal Jackson at the top, over so many much more deserving talents. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see that they did rate The Beatles over him. Anyway, to my point of commenting on your post, You asked about Bob Dylan. To my surprise again he was ranked at No. 5. Like I said, It's my belief that this whole thing was to create a grand argument over who was overlooked, who was ranked high, etc.and to that end I think if nothing at all was accomplished, Maybe,Just Maybe this list will get some of all generations to checking into some of the names they haven't heard of or don't know much about. That means educated instead of Ignorance and that's a good thing in my book Any day. I could spend hours going over the list, it's rankings, those chosen and those left out, but that still would be just one man's opinion. For instance how anyone could even include Prince, Nirvana and Madonna even close to the top 100 is beyond me, But I'm guessing that you already disagree with that, so whatever our opinions at least the list created controversy, that might lead to people looking into music they would never do otherwise, and again that's a good thing. The bottom line is this " Rock & Roll ain't noise pollution", "We didn't start the fire" and " LONG LIVE ROCK " "SEMPER FI " the_usmctanker
