without the slight redeeming element of having taken in part in anything even close to resembling the significance of "Nevermind the Bollocks"
where do you think these tweets have been emerging from?
Definitely tackle. Bet the man casts line as mean as he hits snare!
Mans can barely get me to listen to Weezer proper, ain't no way I'm paying to hear *checks count above* 3236 demos.
My guy, I have a master's in philosophy. Believe me, there are lots of incredibly useful and instructive thought experiments you can do in ethics, the likes of which involve no shortage of coiled, touchy material. Yet, despite this, there are very few people who would readily grant that debating something like the fucking merits of Nazism in 2022 is a productive use of one's time and philosophical efforts, and those that do, well I'm sure you can imagine what their politics look like. Have you ever heard of Karl Popper's 'paradox of tolerance'? While not itself without flaw, it is a useful way of looking at such issues.
The example has more than been made already. If you think that debating the merits of an ideology which resulted in the genocide of millions of people is still of some value, then I think you need to maybe take a quick five.
For fuck’s sake, why do we need to constantly work Nazis into every argument in favour of some sort of freedom of speech or expression, why is this even a debate still? We know what has and can happen when people or groups with that ideology is given a platform, we don’t need to fucking re-tread this shit every generation.
Also, let Neil serve as an example of how you can age eloquently as an old head and not devolve into some spineless conservative wanker in the manner that so many of his peers have.
It certainly is money spent, at the least.
I do think the shenanigans for TLOP were actually kind of fun and interesting, although it is certainly unfortunate that they turned out to be not a one time phenomenon, but rather the rule for all subsequent Kanye releases, getting worse each time, and with mostly diminishing artistic returns.

New Wik track is pretty heat, haven't really heard him rap this hard since "So It Goes", which is a nice change of pace! I feel like he's been sort of all over the map since Ratking broke up, but the last few releases have found him settling into a more comfortable groove, so I'm super excited to see what's next for the mans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=361qlyd2AMo&ab_channel=Wiki
Idk, TLOP to Ye might be one of the biggest single steepest drops, but the former still slaps, removed as we are from the initial release shenanigans.
Damn, what a trip it is to re-visit that OF performance. Wild how far Tyler has come since then. I'll also never not laugh when Yasiin Bey pops up out of nowhere at the end, screaming "SWAG" like a teenage fangirl, just fantastic. Understated but solid performance from Earl. I think that sort of setting suits his new sound. Couldn't imagine wanting to see him at a festival type environment, especially in the light of the sun. Sort of seems like his new sound is best suited for the types of venues he's far too popular to play.
Excellent choices already. Any child put to bed with Grouper will turn out to be a sophisticate. Might I also suggest GAS and Nils Frahm for shut-that-shit-down hours?
I think we should forego that tired topic and shift our attention to how fucking cheesy the band is. They're really out here releasing a record called "11:11" smh

Counter-point: While I do not think Pecknold is on the same level as a Cohen or a Berman - a fact I think he would quite readily grant - I do believe that he is a very underrated lyricist, especially on the most recent two records. Even despite his earlier downfalls (hyperbolically pastoral, sometimes well-dressed juvenile existential ponderings etc.), I think he is very well-studied in the greats, and has a growing knack at writing verses equal parts profound and simple, much in the way that some of his idols before him - Dylan, Clark, TVZ - were so exemplary at.
Goddamit, because of the time it took to make this tweet, the new valentine's LP's just got set back another 3 decades.
Beyond ecstatic for this! I really think Rossen is one of the module underrated songwriters and musicians of his generation, despite the general acclaim of GB. He’s a rare talent, and I’ve been waiting what seems like a decade for this record after the first EP.
I've listened to that clip dozens of times, and as it stands, it is probably my favorite thing they/she's ever done. Was sort of nervous to see what they'd do with it on the record, as that version is so powerful and haunting. Unfortunately this one seems to have lost some of that charm, but will still be filed under good BT tune, and I think some of the production choices are cool.

Checks out, that tune was far too flat and boring to have been written just by Spoon themselves.
Man, I think the only person who has given this more thought than you is Kanye.

How incredible is SICK! ? What an impressive run Thebe continues to be on, very glad to be around to witness it in real time! The uncle Alc produced opener and closer tracks are some of the best he's ever written, and its wild that for someone who for so long has exploited/highlighted the plasticity of words and language, that he keeps getting better and better at it. Early AOTY contender, for sure.
Seems uncontroversial, but correct, nevertheless.
A dunno mate, "A Lucid Dream" is pretty damn good!
This is Exhibit A both for their banjo use and their sound more generally. Aesthetically, it seems like a bit of a gimmick, but sonically it rules, and often you can't even tell thats what dude is playing, at least on the records. Very cool band, a must-see live show! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B15q6Uz6inY&ab_channel=SHOWMETHEBODY-CORPUS
While I think it was necessary for them to switch up their sound as doing these sorts of angry, inspired punk rippers is hard to maintain for a decade without sounding contrived at a point, its always an absolute delight when they remind you what kind of band they really are behind all the artsy, weird layers twists n turns.
They have a brilliant way of working that into a lot of their songs, I've seen them do it quite a few times! Always absolutely crushes! God, I love this band.
