Amazing song. Also worth noting that the Monkees version lyrics changed the shaving razor being 'old' to 'cold'
Bonus: worth hearing the story of the song in John's words

honestly stereogum should take a moral stance on the Liam choking situation. first of all on the article they reported it on, they didn't link to the video (guys watch the video). can we really be horrified at that video and then continue to write these fluffy twitter articles in a cute tone?
"I know someone at my college newspaper reviewed Cake’s Prolonging The Magic, but I don’t know if I could name a song from it."
I can! Mexico, Never There, Walk On By and Cool Blue Reason are all pretty great jams in my high school memory
so this was major cringe, right? snl did nothing with it. it felt like a high school production and had 0 original jokes. the writers should be ashamed
Listen to how he says that though. It doesn't seem like he really believes it anymore, and is just saying it to will that power to come back. You wouldn't get that from just reading the quote though. Pretty sad but interesting and revealing vid. The other Uganda dome freestyle he posted this morning was pretty awesome though for anyone who still cares about the positive side of Ye!
Lol nice. Really tho Trump was the one who made a hat a political statement. Makes sense that Ye would try to go that route too, but spin the meaning with different text/colors. This is actually the first time Kanye's 'I put positive energy into the hat and now it's mine' thinking has made sense
There's actually an interesting article to be written about the fact that Kanye told Trump black people's main issue with the MAGA slogan (the 'Again') then gave him a redesigned "Make America Great" hat and Trump wore it. And gave Ivanka and Jared hilarious personalized hats too

Whatever, my thesis was pretty spot on here and the Davidson Defence squad can't handle it
Also "make kanye 2006 again" is just a hack way of saying 'I miss the old kanye' which is a joke kanye already accepted and made his own a couple years ago.
Ending it by asking 'where's the album' is pretty cheap and dishonest since we already know it's not coming for another few months
Maybe true, but any additional ye-bashing right now (especially the ultra-cliche 'Kanye’s a jerk') is just adding more noise to the situation. If you don't remember, Kanye being a jerk has been baked into his music from the beginning. It's actually part of why we like him! He has jerkish impulses but deep down is basically a sweetheart of a guy. Do we not remember that SNL let the ACTUAL Trump host?
Kanye, who gets constantly bashed by clueless dads around the world every day - is who we should direct our bashing energy towards? Way to go with the herd
I think SNL should release the full Ghost Town performance plus the speech so everyone knows what was actually said. From the available clips, it wasn't the crazy pro-Trump rant that SG and other sites have lazily depicted it as - he said he was bullied for wearing the hat and that SNL's been 'going on Trump too hard' and questioning if that's productive. If Pete's worried about supporting Trump by association by being on stage at the same time as a Maga hat, is he also supporting Trump because he's got a "Reborn" tattoo? "Fuck SNL and the whole cast"
'They called themselves Fucked Up, for heaven’s sake, much to the chagrin of some of our more prudish outlets.' - dudes, U guys wouldn't say Cocksucker in a article about the Rolling stones song
Studio version that circulated a couple months ago was a lot better and Ye taking over the 2nd verse didn't really improve it much but this song is pretty great so it being on Yandhi might work?
Man I'll stand by both of those albums plus EWBAITE and even the White Album too! That's what's so frustrating about this new era of Weezer. Imagine the success of this chintzy Africa cover actually fucked up the Black Album release ...
