Respects, man. The saddest thing is that an entire generation will remember him primarily for his, er, alleged crimes and not for the fact that (albeit with more than a little help from Quincy Jones), he was one of the greatest pop artists there will ever be.
Man, just when I thought Day & Age proved they weren't trying to be The Great American Band...
Her legs look they were built in a cave. With scraps.
Fantastic performance, even if we did have to endure Paul having fun with a sketch by Fallon's terrible writers.
They did this again last night in Columbus, absolutely amazing to see the ladies wail like that. Bit of a shock to see Becky Stark take on this song so well.
These are not journalists. They are broadcasters. Couldn't make it through j-school because they just didn't feel like saving the entire fucking world WITH ONLY A PEN.
Saw the trailer for this months ago. So excited.
I'm gonna pretend the first big chunk of that is played for shits and giggles. But I must say, impressive Springsteen selections.
"Our children will be taught a new way of thinking" OH GOD! NOT NEW IDEAS!
Same here. I'm still holding out for a Mariner's Revenge revival.
Any word on a complete second-half set list? Sounds like they're at least bringing the heavy stuff.
I'd like to mention that the kid is losing it because of a hockey game. Yep.
This doesn't sound like bad news at all, right guys? Is there any way we can blame leno?
Man, every time I think about bitching about Columbus, I make myself stop: Dirty Projectors and Yeah Yeah Yeahs are hardly doing any gigs in the US, and we get 'em both.
Columbus, Please!
Who'd have thought those tags would ever be used together on a semi-SFW Videogum?
I'm seeing them in June and am seriously considering wearing a shirt that says "SHARA WORDEN I LOVE YOU AND MY GIRLFRIEND IS MOSTLY OKAY WITH THAT". Related: I'm going with my girlfriend.
I know they're not nearly as big here as they are in the UK, but are the Arctic Monkeys seriously going to be this criminally underbilled for the rest of their careers?
"Why would The Simpsons share something this irritating with their viewers?" Why would the show have aired something like the last six or seven seasons?
However, it had Kanye in it, so it is therefore Kanye-approved
Dharma From Sierra Leone
I hope the reporter was going for double entendre when describing how many people eat at Taco Bell. "They're always quick and super super nice"
Blazing Saddles: Old West settlers fight crime. Learn valuable lesson in equality. Trainspotting: Heroin is baaaad Cloverfield: Man bound for Tokyo has his farewell party ruined
For some reason, it's become trendy to knock on McCartney lately, and it astounds me. Thank you for reminding people WHY he's idolized.
Does anyone else remember rainbow parties? I don't really count, since I was only 7 or 8, but still.
Dammit Ohio, why can't we big a little more important?
Gilllllllllly, did you write this shitty sketch?
This was a pleasant surprise - a great album that, despite some off spots, is never particularly bad. Thing is, as you mentioned, she seems to be stepping into her own. She's still got her great album ahead. Be excited.
Sill Gwen Stefani, you aren't Eddie Argos. On a related note, who wants to see Art Brut cover this song?
Hey, don't be down on this movie. My old high school is doing Fame for their musical and I'll be dragged, and I hate to say it, but THAT will probably be even more The Worst.
I blame this video for me hardly listening to any song that isn't "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" at all.
If you associate "Brazil" with the Arcade Fire before you associate it with Sinatra, you need to listen to more music that's over 10 years old and isn't MBV
Random Thought: I love Give Up, think it's a fantastic album, etc. But why does The Postal Service make this list yet nothing by Modest Mouse or Flaming Lips? In 20 years, Good News will still be relevant, and it will still be a staple for almost any self-respecting music geek. Same goes for [insert favorite Lips album here]. Also, much respect for Zach Condon, but Gulag? 41? I dunno...
HE'S IN A BETTER PLACE! Actually, he's in the same place with a hole in him
