Respects, man.
The saddest thing is that an entire generation will remember him primarily for his, er, alleged crimes and not for the fact that (albeit with more than a little help from Quincy Jones), he was one of the greatest pop artists there will ever be.
They did this again last night in Columbus, absolutely amazing to see the ladies wail like that. Bit of a shock to see Becky Stark take on this song so well.
These are not journalists. They are broadcasters. Couldn't make it through j-school because they just didn't feel like saving the entire fucking world WITH ONLY A PEN.
Man, every time I think about bitching about Columbus, I make myself stop: Dirty Projectors and Yeah Yeah Yeahs are hardly doing any gigs in the US, and we get 'em both.
I'm seeing them in June and am seriously considering wearing a shirt that says "SHARA WORDEN I LOVE YOU AND MY GIRLFRIEND IS MOSTLY OKAY WITH THAT". Related: I'm going with my girlfriend.
I know they're not nearly as big here as they are in the UK, but are the Arctic Monkeys seriously going to be this criminally underbilled for the rest of their careers?

Why would the show have aired something like the last six or seven seasons?
Blazing Saddles: Old West settlers fight crime. Learn valuable lesson in equality.
Trainspotting: Heroin is baaaad
Cloverfield: Man bound for Tokyo has his farewell party ruined
This was a pleasant surprise - a great album that, despite some off spots, is never particularly bad. Thing is, as you mentioned, she seems to be stepping into her own. She's still got her great album ahead. Be excited.

If you associate "Brazil" with the Arcade Fire before you associate it with Sinatra, you need to listen to more music that's over 10 years old and isn't MBV
Random Thought: I love Give Up, think it's a fantastic album, etc. But why does The Postal Service make this list yet nothing by Modest Mouse or Flaming Lips? In 20 years, Good News will still be relevant, and it will still be a staple for almost any self-respecting music geek. Same goes for [insert favorite Lips album here].
Also, much respect for Zach Condon, but Gulag? 41? I dunno...
