We might've already had this convo, or it might've been with someone else, but:
Not even NO COLOR!? That album is peak Dodos. One of the best albums of... oh my god 2011 I'm old
I only found out about Gunny back in 2019 when The Unseen in Between came out, which was probably one of the best albums that year. From the sounds of these released tracks, this new one will be too. PE would be nice!
There's no way anyone would willingly listen to this song a 2nd time (or even a full 1st time) without a cute dog video attached. We were just talking about how some of the new Foxing songs are a tad too repetitious in another thread, but this... my freakin' ears
"Brothers" never gets enough love or mention. It's not only one of my (ok, my #1) favorite WoD songs, it's probably one of my favorite all-time songs, period.
Is the other site really not going to review it at all? Over a week since release and nothing. But the new Killers? A band they never gave a positive review to? Top review day of its release. Fuck outta here...
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of repeating/repetitive lyrics (I'm the guy that hates Caribou's "Can't Do Without You" for such reason) but I still find "Lightning" catchy enough. "Bialystok" was also a tad repetitive but catchy enough to be enjoyable too. Who can resist singing along with the "gooo, OHHHH" every time? Not me.
No article on the release date, even a "Stream Foxing's new album" article, wasn't AOTW, no PE, other site hasn't even reviewed it yet. Is it....is it a bad album...? Coulda fooled me, I'm enjoying it a lot. "Beacons" is as good as anything they've done. It's a slight step down from Nearer My God, yes, but it's weird to see it basically dismissed b/c it's not as good as their career high, while still being very damn good.
We got one! I'm not alone! Glad to hear Ambrose is a good dude, that's always a plus. Oh and they're Australian, I had no idea. Lot of great indie rock comin' from down under.
Any fans of The Murlocs around these parts? No mention of them here (or the other site, or really any music site for some fucking reason), but their new album Bittersweet Demons came on in June and I've been going back to it a lot ever since. They're in the same wheelhouse as Ty Segall, Oh Sees, King Gizzard, etc. I realize I'm old and not in touch with what's hot and hip and funky fresh anymore, but this is good shit and it's weird to me to not see them gettin' any love/attention online anywhere. Check'em out.
Eh it's alright. Took me a while to come around on Sex & Food, and now I like almost every song on it. But just like, not love. "That Life" I love. All of Multi-Love I multi-love.
Aw the Zolas. I've always like their indie-pop output even though it's not top-tier stuff it's always catchy, melodic, and enjoyable. Their previous work as Lotus Child is good too. Gossip Diet has some "bangers" as the kids would say.
Hellraiser 3 isn't bad... has some good (gross) visuals and kills... I mean, it's the 3rd best Hellraiser. All downhill from there.
And of course The Thing is 10/10 perfect.
