Yep. I almost wrote something close to this in the post.

Agreed that Amala was a better album than Hot Pink (though as I said, "Juicy" is probably my favorite Doja Cat song)

I am admittedly not the target audience but to me it's obviously a (little) monster jam

IMO yes. I initially thought they had played it too safe and were just repeating themselves there, but S=seeing them live last year I was surprised at how many of the songs from LP2 hit like classics. I thought for sure some of them must be covers and then when I looked over the setlist it was like, no, these are just really good Haim songs I slept on the first time around.

You're right, but I don't think Offset had a speaking role, just Quavo.

I like Ultraviolence and NFR about the same. Both start out incredibly strong and grow a little tiresome in the second half. Some of my younger colleagues have informed me that Born To Die will always be her masterpiece, so: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not liking I'm Wide Awake is insane to me. I have been shocked to learn that "disliking I'm Wide Awake" is a popular position. To me it's several marathons better than anything else he's ever done. It's one of my favorite albums of all time. Not that I dislike his other work, I'm Wide Awake just hits me deeper than the rest.

Re: your first question, yes, only the redeemed downloads count as album sales. Re: the the second question, Nielsen Soundscan is where Billboard gets their data, but Billboard then decides what to do with that data (i.e. what should count and what should not count). But the question is becoming moot because Valence (parent company of Billboard, and of Stereogum) is buying Soundscan.
