Agree the band name is terrible... the album, on the other hand 👌

I don’t approve, but it was quoted in a neutral, more descriptive context

I actually do not recall Ultimate Sunshine '03, but Ultimate Sunshine '02 was the shit. Flaming Lips at the peak of their relevance, Modest Mouse still on cycle for Moon And Antarctica, De La Soul... plus Cake played last so you could leave before the end without feeling like you were missing anything too important.

It's just a classic, nothing "minor" about it

March 25, 2019 on Sky Ferreira’s New Single “Downhill Lullaby” Out Next Week
I am not at all tuned in to MMJ's dynamic but it seems like they're at that Radiohead phase in their career — extremely popular, a couple decades deep —when they take a long time between albums to pursue other projects. They don't seem like a group that will ever break up, but they may go five years between LPs.

March 22, 2019 on The Story Behind Every Song On Strand Of Oaks’ New Album Eraserland
I talked about this a bit with Kevin: The plan for Currents was two singles and then a spring drop. But "Let It Happen" came out before the album was finished. Kevin ran himself ragged trying to meet the deadline, so they pushed it back and ended up releasing two more singles before a July release. But his hope was for a quick rollout. I am hoping that since he's taken his sweet time this means the album is all ready to go now, so they can have new music locked and loaded for all those festivals.

Weirdly enough, I haven't owned a Wilco T-shirt since college. I guess now that I'm 35 it's time to revisit Sky Blue Sky, though.

The answer is no. Unless "texture" counts as a thing that can happen.

Maybe I think too highly of Keanu but I don't think he would sign on for that.

Mdou is left-handed just like Hendrix, so you may be on to something. Although I don't think he plays a right-handed guitar upside down.

March 4, 2019 on The Number Ones: Bill Withers’ “Lean On Me”
Sometimes we have a conversation in Slack where one of us asks why we're still covering a band and we realize none of us cares about the band in question AT ALL and we decide to stop covering them. This is what happened with Foals.

That was a really great album that sadly got crowded out of my ballot by other slightly greater albums. I listened to it a ton last year, though.
