This isn't THAT bad, but I hate that it happened. At least it's not "Only You" or "U Already Know" or "Dance With Me" or "Anywhere" or—NEVER MIND, PROTECT 112 FROM ALL COVERS. (Hi guys!)
I have been thinking all week I would be #1. I am so sad. Should I just become part of the commentariat?
I saw the tweet and I was like, "WILL THERE OR WON'T THERE BE A YEEZUS REFERENCE" and now here we are. HI GUYS!
You forgot to mention Yeezus :)
Aw thank you, Raptor Jesus! No going away post from me. This was it and I'm glad you think it's a good note to bow out with. Always appreciated how much you contribute to the convo here, RJ, and your kind words upon my departure.
I know, I said that it was there to remind "us he popped off when Clinton was president." :)
I've never heard otherwise, so I am pretty sure that it's just thinking faster than typing. Thanks for pointing out that one so I could fix it.
I couldn't agree with you more. And at the helm of all of his maniacal Twitter-ing, it's even more glaring. The thing is, I wonder if we had just as much output from other rappers, we might see more of this. When people started calling Drake "emo rap," I always wondered why someone like DMX or Sticky Fingaz from Onyx didn't get the same labels because they're exuding a lot of pain in a really dark way. For what it's worth, "real emo" (sorry), at least Revolution Summer steez, is pretty dark. All goes back to that Kim Gordon quote from earlier this year where she said she listened to a lot of rap during her break-up with Thurston Moore because it's good for trauma. For what it's worth, rap was built of trauma.
Kanye wore it better: "mayonnaise-colored Benz / I push miracle whips"
That was almost on the list! I love that song, too.
"Bawitdaba," too!
They're no longer allowed to make Katy perform off-site. The dearth of her and Rihanna together was too much for me to bear(cunt).
"Hi, I'm Brian Fellows!" - Bruno Mars
Her internal monologue is definitely brutally cruel, but those eyes say she's too faded to know that she's not outwardly showing the shade. Oof, Rihanna.
Kevin Hart is going to make me feel so much better.
If you guys feel like you need one more rule, drink every time someone says "twerk." I'm on an iPad. This might be a mess. #pray4claire
I meant to upvote that :(
His use of "Fraggle" would certainly support this. Although, the Fraggles were extremely pedantic.
Yeah, I just downloaded the iTunes version and noticed that and was totally bummed.
Bad news: "R.I.P." is actually a cover of the Migos song.
I'm not sure why you can't see it because if you scroll up, it's still there.
You are totally right. Producer is from Memphis. Thanks for pointing that out!
You know what? I take it back. Despite the kind of jank ears, the work is really good. Someone below pointed out that it could be fake because there's no definition on the ends, but really the line work is just finessed really well and it clearly healed beautifully. I concede to you, KiDCHAIR. (Also, I don't watch Ink Master on Spike TV, either.)
You are not watching enough Ink Master on Spike TV, my friend.
I don't know about those ears...
I swear, I was totally not using poetic license about the whole "RUDE" thing because I actually did have so much trouble hearing from where I was able to see and moving elsewhere felt like a fool's errand. What a bummer. Never seen Tegan & Sara before, so I don't know but I would guess the way she sings does probably put a lot of strain on her voice.
Just makes it so impossible to break the physical habit, though, right?
Wait sorry, it is a part of the first three songs that open up the album. I was saying the three in tandem are a great way to open a record. Sorry for the semantic confusion.
Total brain blip that is making me really dumb right now because I have probably listened to that album 100 times. Thanks for not too brutally pointing it out.
In his defense, his family does have a background in television. Yuk yuk yuk.
I'm under the impression that the rest of the EP is more in the vein of "ICE.MOON," which I'm excited about it. I think she'll definitely be an interesting artist to watch.
There are so many overlooked gems from Saddle Creek 50 period. Good call!
I am taking back what I said about "Little Pusher Love Girl" last week. This is amazing.
Well, this explains the rain boots...
"Real bitches do real things."
Nick, I'm so glad that I could help contextualize her music and I totally understand why someone would not like it. I actually think she has a lot of room for improvement but I'm glad she's around.
Dude, yes! But it's I am really, really, really about eXquire's verse on that song.
