in 08 I saw mgmt, vampire weekend, m.i.a., Metallica, battles, my morning jacket, Sigur Ros, bb king, and Kanye at 4 a.m. probably only primavera puts together lineups nowadays that touch those mid-late aughts bonnaroos.
Yeah it's m.o.r. but to me the vocal melodies are more interesting than, like, "Hello." If we can't get a drum n bass album, I'll take an album with some more movement to her vocals, not just big belted choruses (though we've got that too).
Dave Grohl seeing Paul McCartney: "I had never even seen a shooting star before. 25 years of rotations, passes through comets' paths, and travel, and to my memory I had never witnessed burning debris scratch across the night sky."
I think Dacus is a better songwriter and has a stunning voice, while Baker is really talented instrumentally. Bridgers has a pretty voice and vibes I guess.
It is strange that anyone would label her as in "Jack's stable" at this point. For all the sonic flourishes on Melodrama that you might hear Jack's other producing, I don't think anyone but Lorde could've made that album. She's clearly in charge of and following her vision, and has been for a while. Same goes for Lana, Taylor, etc.
